despicable, shameful, and only makes people want to leave the once great city..
there needs to be a petition to get rid of the "so called" mayor NOW..

Once the firecracker/m80 blew up next to the cop, I'm amazed they didnt start shooting back...oh, I forgot, the "mayor" wont allow the police to protect them selves when under attack..

I saw 1 cop on the wall using his nightstick, back in the day the other 10 would have joined him.

hopefully, the 18 cops who were injured will file lawsuits against the city...maybe Madigan will represent them for free as a "pre community service" thing, before he goes to the sheet house

Why in Heaven's name wouldn't the officers be given plexiglass shields, body armor, etc.? Those are DEFENSIVE in nature, if Lightfoot's goal was for no "protesters" to be injured, why not at least give the cops the tools to defend themselves? Maybe the idea is to make the police "victims", that sure was my thought when I watched this - I was trying to figure how I could stand far back in the crowd and throw "beer cans full of pee-pee" or whatever their weapon-flavor-of-the-day is, such that they fall short of the cops but hit the idiots throwing stuff at the cops, square in their pointy heads. Best that I keep these thoughts in the fantasy realm, I guess, but it sure would be appealing to get a couple of guys with wrist rockets out there and defend the police. Hey, now that's a thought, when the Marxists start showing up with "Defund the Police" signs, how about it be countered with "DEFEND the police" signs?

cant even imagine why anyone would want to remain a police officer in Chicago anymore..If this keeps up, you wont have to "defund" the police...

Everytime I'm in Chicago I always wave to a Police Officer, say "Thank you for your service" and offer to buy them a bottle of water.

They were just doing their assigned job duty in Grant Park. They didn't deserve that treatment. And all people did was deface that area and deface it and make it into a dangerous situation.

Don’t think these criminal rioters won’t be back tonight to finish the job, because they will. And the mayor might just let them tear the statue tonight ....
