Dh and I will be in Chicago for work. We're looking for a place to enjoy delicious wine (prefer West Coast wines) in a romantic setting. Staying in O'Hare area.

In terms of cuisine just something light.

Any recommendations?

I have to get something off my chest. As much as I love Lincoln Square and places like the Huettenbar, they have the worst Cabernet I have ever had in my life! I am really sorry to say this, but I love cabernet, so this really sticks out!
I can't say I've ever had a bad glass elsewhere. If you're an Obama fan, you can go to kind of nearby Edison Park to have a meal and wine (I've been there a couple of times) at Zias Trattoria. Obama said he liked that place! And if you don't like Obama, there's a slew of great places right by Zias!

Oddly enough, The Gaslight Club at the O'Hare Hilton has a very good wine list in a nice setting.

I don't know if you already went but I was recently at Maple & Ash and they had some nice drinkable aged wines by glass. They have a good sommelier there.

Thanks! Ended up at Gene and Georgetti’s. Delightful atmosphere and very good wine selection.

Pleasantly surprised that Chicago is opening up, people outside and places open for dining. Great city, always enjoy visiting.
