I'll bet that that's a question that does not appear here very often.

I'm a man, and I'm in my mid-40s.

The only Chicago-area sperm bank that I know about is the Midwest Sperm Bank in Downers Grove, IL. And that sperm bank does not accept sperm donations from any man over age 40.

So, is there a Chicago-area sperm bank that will accept sperm donations from a man my age?

Actually, is there another sperm bank in the Chicago area at all? My google searches do not show any Chicago-area sperm banks other than Midwest Sperm Bank.

Thanks for any info.

Mod cut.

If you're really serious, I believe there's a place called "Alternative Reproductive Resources" on N. Racine.

Mod cut.

Well, I'm not sure what was "cut", but, yes, I am serious.

Unfortunately, the only Alternative Reproductive Resources that I can find is a company that is located on Webster Ave. and that specializes in female egg donation and female surrogacy.

I assume if they are doing female reproductive they need sperm. I assume they will want male candidates to pass a rigorous health screening for potential congenital health issues and I'm not sure what other criteria they have like IQ/Educational attainment are common.

I think that the clients of Alternative Reproductive Resources (ARR) are male-female couples where the male is fertile and the female is not fertile. ARR takes the sperm of the male half of the couple, fuses that sperm with a donor egg, and puts that egg into a surrogate. The sperm comes from the male half of an already-established couple.

If I donate sperm to a sperm bank, that sperm would go to a single woman or to the female half of a male-female couple where the male is not fertile.

Hiruko, good morning.

I do not know Chi_42.

Perhaps he does not have children and wants to leave a remnant of himself on this Earth, even if he may not be personally connected to the child?

Perhaps he knows it may help a woman that is seeking a donor??

Perhaps it is a way to make some money, along with the top one or two reasons???

Personally, I could never do it.... Fortunately, I was blessed with 3 children.

I hope Chi_42 finds the information he seeks.
