I'm moving to Chicago next year for a grad program at UIC. Haven't found a place to live yet, but I plan on taking the pink line, as it stops right by the school.

How long does it take to travel from 54th/Cermak to the Polk stop?

Also, is there any information that lists the amount of time it takes to travel from place to place on the trains? I can't seem to find that information anywhere.

Use google maps, plug in your point A & B, and select public transport as your mode of travel, as well as time of day, and it’ll give you route options based on the duration of the trip. Easy peasy.

I live within walking distance of the Polk St. station on the Pink Line, and I frequently ride it to its terminus at 54th Ave. and Cermak Rd., which is in Cicero.

The typical travel time between these 2 stations is about 23 minutes. The latest service on the Pink Line is about 1:45 AM, 7 days a week.

I have never felt unsafe using the Pink Line, regardless of day of week or time of day.

Welcome to Chicago.
