No I haven't.

You know what Venger, I spent three years down there and never think about it. Seems like a dream, the only thing I miss is the Waffle House.

I miss Waffle House, Deja Vu, Camelot East, Cowboy's and that cute nurse I was shacking up with on and off with.

Source: Continental, United vote to combine (http://www.chicagobreakingnews.com/2010/05/source-continental-united-vote-to-combine.html - broken link)

May 2, 2010 5:56 PM
United and Continental Airlines are expected to announce Monday morning that they are combining operations to form the world's largest airline after their boards voted to approve the deal this afternoon, sources said.
The deal is the culmination of a lengthy search by United CEO Glenn Tilton for a partner that would bolster his carrier's global network and that would promote consolidation in a badly fragmented industry plagued by chronic losses.
Continental CEO Jeff Smisek will be named CEO of the new carrier, while Tilton will move to its board as non-executive chairman for a two-year term, said a person familiar with the deal.
The new airline, to be named United, will retain its world headquarters at 77 W. Wacker Dr. in Chicago, where United currently employs about 700 people, sources said.
So how many high-paying jobs will be relocating from Houston to the Willis/Sears Tower and 77 Wacker Dr?

At least BP wont be drilling in Lake Michigan.. the only prob now is keeping the asian cap out of it, although thats not BP's fault it should be addressed.. Im a Michigan resident and I think that the waterway to lake michigan should be blocked off completely.

That's fine - Illinois and Chicago are perfectly okay with that, except that since it benefits Michigan for it to be shut down, and hurts Illinois, Michigan should have to pay Illinois compensation for it.

Once Michigan, Wisconsin and whoever else wants it shut down agree to compensate Illinois for the economic loss, we'll all be on the same page.

If it isn't enough of a benefit to Michigan to pay for it, then Illinois shouldn't have to be the only state to suffer from it.

I think Illinois would also benefit, I dont think Chicago would actually like all the asian carp on its shores.

If I were Michigan, I would be concerning myself with bringing jobs back to the state and resurrecting the economy before concerning myself with BP's operations.

I know talking about invasive fish species is cool and exciting, but isn't anyone else psyched about all the jobs moving to the Loop, not to mention stealing an HQ from Houston? It seems like Houston was caught unprepared for the loss of Continental HQ (http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/...s/6988445.html)

I love the Houston beat down aspect of this deal...

It's like a smarmy "F U" to those Houston folks who are all excited about becoming the 3rd largest city in the US by hopping over Chicago
