This looks like it got pretty intense.

The mayor and an Alderwoman got in each other's faces in a tense exchange at a Council Meeting. It was related to the wrongful raiding of a woman's home by police officers, which made headlines.

It seems like Mayor Lightfoot has struggled in garnering positive relationships with many members of the community and outside media.

Just based on general public perception (especially within the last year), I think she will have a very hard time if she runs for mayor again.

Lori doesn't share the same ideology as me, nor would I ever vote for her, but I've always kind of liked her pluck.

Have to think she's been thoroughly red-pilled during her time as mayor of Chicago. She could harness that pluck and make some truly meaningful changes in this town, but she will only continue to repeat the party line by blaming whitey and the wealthy.

I did at first too...especially in the Mayoral debates she was one of my top choices. I liked how she stood up to the teachers union too. No political candidate is perfect but her handling of covid, crime and racism issues has been poor. She just doubled down on excluding white male journalists from interviews citing the tired false line of "systemic racism" All she had to do was quietly select a black female interviewer but she purposefully chose to be racist. What an oxyMORON:

I don't see anyone electable in Chicago who would be palatable to me. I suspect someone even worse would replace her, Kim Foxx, Toni Preckwinkle...

That's my fear as well. I do like Aldermen Lopez though.

I’d cast a few votes for The Worm, if he decided to run. Or Charles Barkley.

Seriously it’d be nice to see an “outsider” get the job, instead of another machine politician.

Starting to resemble some of Detroit’s infamous city council meetings.

Would have been perfect if the Alderman said Betelgeuse 3 times.

There are lots of people in the hood with "pluck", we usually just call it ghetto but I guess the people of Chicago have spoken and the result is a dramatic increase in violent crime in the last 2 years.

Maybe you should go for intelligence over pluck next time.
Hey!

Hey everybody!

This poster has the solution to the woes of one of America's largest cities and one of its oldest!

Why aren't you running against Lightfoot?

As for Lightfoot herself, I respect any politician who is willing to face a possible beatdown. You don't see that kind of character anymore.

Terrible mayor? Of course. We were never going to have a good one. It's like "good alderperson", a paradox.
