After spending 18 months away from Chicago (pre Covid I was there every couple months) I figured it was finally a good time to visit.

I'm coming by Amtrak (about a 2 hour trip) and plan to use a K95 mask for that. I hear masks are now mandated for any indoor activities - does that mean no eating inside restaurants? I'm not sure I'd want to anyway... I plan to be downtown and in the E. Lakeview area, possibly Chinatown if I have enough time. How are you guys limiting or not limiting your everyday activities?

I still have time to cancel my overnight hotel reservation but would really like to take the plunge after being away for so long. And yes, I'm fully vaccinated.

Restaurants are open and busy. You will have to wear a mask at them starting Friday 8/20.

Depends on the restaurants. Some have dine-in. Some have takeout. Some have GrubHub. You do hafta go maskless to eat. May have restricted tables so that 2 could sit together but next table not so close.

On your 2 hr Amtrak may have cafe car open to get quick items & drinks. Diner for full meal may be closed. You may have to eat in your seat.
