The fact that it has such a robust and growing Chinatown that is 90% Chinese is fairly impressive. And Asians I believe are the fastest growing race in both the city and metro area. Also - if you’re in Chicagoland and looking for an excellent Asian grocery store, check out Mitsuwa Marketplace in Arlington Heights. It’s very similar to Uwajimaya in the Seattle area. There’s also a Mitsuwa in San Diego- if you haven’t been you should check it out.

This is a general observation but certain north suburbs like Skokie, Morton Grove and Niles are like 20-30% Asian. I don’t know much of this is East Asian. Maybe other posters might have more familiarity with the demographics.
Yes, the poster has been reassured several times that there are plenty of Asians in Chicagoland. Chicago MSA has the 7th largest total Chinese population. It’s in the top 5 for Filipino population. And CSA, I believe is like 4th for largest Indian population. Bottom line, outside of LA, SF, NYC, and a few other places, you will find more Asians in Chicagoland than almost anywhere.

There’s also “retired couple moving into Chicagoland “ as well as “single guy in 30s” posts so it’s not all minorities that are ruffling OPs feathers

Is someone's feathers being ruffled? LOL

I ask, as I listen to, "Why can't we be friends?", by WAR.

Oh, dang, THAT song is sure over 30-years-old!!!
