eh, i say have street and subway performers, the city needs more of them. I'd love to have some more sax players downtown for instance. Also please bring back street vendors. Both of those would make the city more vibrant.

The other day on one of the stops at the Red Line, I can't remember which one, a girl was singing into one of those battery-powered microphones. She was really bad though.

I didn't get that good of a look; I was already inside the train and it wasn't my stop. But she could be heard even with the doors closed.

I thought it was a woman? She (?) actually is really talented - the only talented one I've ever heard. I tipped her too. Does anyone know anything about this performer?

several of you have mentioned street vendors. were they in the EL stations or just on the street? i assume they sold hot dogs, etc?

we've got plenty up here in PP but they're virtually all selling mexican fare.

Amen, brother.

The air in public places is part of the Commons. As long as you are displaying civility and are courteous, god bless 'em.

I will say that people should not be allowed to camp out in the tunnels which connect the red and blue lines - not enough space, and that does actually restrict pedestrian flow.
