Here is a video and article on the observation deck of the Chicago Board of Trade Building observation deck that was open to the public from 1930 to 1971.

I have seen this video before but thanks for providing an opportunity to watch it again. When I worked in the West Loop, usually once a week I would take lunch at Cellars Market in the lower level of this building. I really enjoyed being able to walk into the building lobby, take a few seconds to admire the Art Deco features and then descend the steps to the food court. One of the best scenes downtown will always be the one facing south down LaSalle Street with an unobstructed view of this magnificent building.

In 1930, tickets to the Board of Trade observation deck were 50 cents for adults and 30 cents for children. In 1947, the price was 30 cents for everyone and the deck open 9 am to 9 pm 7 days a week. In 1970, the price was 50 cents for adults and 25 cents for children. Hours then were 9 am to 5 pm Monday-Friday.
