Yeah, it is currently 83 right now at 9:19 pm with a humidity level of 63%. Heat index of 88. So it is not much better here than in SC right now.

Hm. Alrighty.

Side note. As Chicagoans, have you ever been somewhere like Arizona or Florida on a coolish day and heard people complain about how cold it is, and just laughed to yourself?

That's what it's like to hear Chicagoans complain about the heat.

Just sayin.

Dude it is humid as hell and has been raining for days. Whatever. Hopefully a hurricane comes your way. We have been under tornado watch for most of the last 4 days in the city and the whole region. There have been tornados all over the burbs,Indiana, and the southern Wisconsin as well as many other areas.

Cook County is under tornado watch again right now.

Your comments are unreal.

Maybe you need to move back to SC.

Calm down, man.

Like I say, I'm sure the weather sucks right now. Alls I'm saying is that it's good to keep a little perspective.

"I hope a hurricane comes your way"?

Take a nap, buddy.

Wishing hurricanes on people is sort of silly.

This is miserable and I'm complaining about it because I hate anything over 70 , but it's not like the southern heat, where you actually do have to run the air 24 hours a day. My mom is convinced that the sun is actually hotter in Tennessee than it ever was in Michigan.

I love the way everyone gets so heated up (pun intended ) about the weather on this forum.

Okay I can't resist anymore...

First, I wish I was at Pawley's too. We want to go after July 4th.

Second, it has been so hot here that our air conditioner can't keep up with what we set it for. Its still cool in the house but after awhile you have to step outside to realize it. We need a bigger heat pump; I guess! Our pool warmed up overnight after being drained this year for maintenance but the day that did it was too hot and muggy to be outside; an ozone action day! Today Greenville-Spartanburg hit 100. I went to the pool twice!

Third, we haven't had any tornado watches or warnings. I'll take the heat over those IMO.

I find it funny when you used the term Chicagoans as if you are not one. Either you are one now or you are just another temporary transplant. Make up your mind.

Yeah, I know it is hotter for more time in the summer in the southeast than Chciago. Yes, I have been in the south many times in the summer.
I have great perspective. BTw it usually is not this hot and humid with crazy storms this early in the season in the Chicago area. It is not even summer technically yet.

I see what you're saying, but I'm not sure how else to indicate people who live in Chicago, and I don't intend my use of the term to exclude me. I guess I should say "other Chicagoans". Just as I would say "other Americans".

I stand corrected.

Yup. I know it. Like I say, I know the weather sucks. I hope it gets better soon!

So what, the heat index has only been about 5-10 higher in SC than here or most other places south of the Great Lakes and east of the Miss. river the last few days.

The last few days you have had to run the air 24/7 the last few days here.

I never said it is like southern heat on a regular basis, but it has been the last few days. It happens every year. Some years a lot more often than others.
