quigboto,

There's NO hiding the beauty that is: Chicago women!

Thank you for having my back on it as # 1!

I feel sorry for anyone with prejudice attitudes; Chicago has such beautiful women of ALL shades and ethnicities.

Looking back, I SHOULD have moved there in my 20s. My Sweet Lord!!!!!!!

The best thing is that you can live in the Chicago without car.
I personally hate driving in any way / shape / form and feel like here not too many people are looking down on you because you choose not to drive.

Very true! Chicago's perception on public transit is unlike many major cities in general. The only comparison in the US is New York.

Most other major cities you're considered "poor" if you take public transit. I think that's because in Chicago and NY the transit is so convenient it's hard not to consider it as an option no matter how wealthy you might be.

And some (though not all) of those train lines run 24 hours . . . unless that has changed to whatever degree since last knowing of this as a fact.

As an analogy, I lived in Philadelphia, PA for 7 years and the entire mass transit system ran 24/7. After I moved out of the region to another U.S. region in 1992, I'd heard and read that, sometime later, they ended the 24/7 service . . . but then read later that they restored it to be 24/7 once again. The point is that things sometimes change from what they used to be (for better or for worse).

An astute observation.

I'm in my mid 70s and have lived in Chicago all my life. I have never been tainted by the suburbs.

Throughout my working career, I only commuted to various jobs using public transportation.

I especially dislike to drive. It's a relief not to be tethered to a vehicle.

The combination of three things that no other American city has as the same time

- Its walkability/urban nature
- Its size
- Its affordability.

NYC only has two of these!

Only the Red and Blue lines operate around the clock. But the others typically wake up about 4:30 A.M. and don't rest until midnight.
