Hi everybody,

I was wondering if someone could recommend me a place to go climbing in Chicago, specially an indoor place for winter season.
I am not looking for "just" a wall in a gym, but something quite big and with a lot of possibilities...I'm not sure to explain very well and I'm not sure such a place exists in Chicago :-// but let's say I'm looking for something we could spend hours and weeks without getting "bored", purely dedicated to climbing.

And if someone knows anything about climbing outdoor around Chicago during warmer season ... I'm interested too!

Thank's!

Stephanie

Try Devil's Lake State Park up in Wisconsin. It's definitely accessible from Chicago for a weekend getaway, and is the best climbing available in this relatively flat part of the country.

There is a place in Homewood, called Climb On! on Harwood right in the downtown area, across from the Metra Electric line, actually. Its climbing gym and I'm not a knowledgeable climber, but its a huge room that's like 3 stories high and as you go around the routes get harder and harder.

Try Ironworkers Local 1 in Chicago. You'll get all the climbing you want, probably more.
