Hello,

we are looking for fresh water, or salt water, or ozone pools in the chicagoland area. If anyone can help that would be great. We want to take our son so it would have to be a place where kids can swim. There is an ozone pool downtown but they don't allow kids to swim. Any help would be great! Thanks!

I looked at that in the past and looked again. Nothing on there that I found. Thanks for the info though. Anyone else have any ideas?

Sorry I know some hotels have ozone pools but they are private.

I know that there are plenty of gyms that feature salt water pools, but I think the best solution is to go to the lake and enjoy beautiful lake Michigan outside!

It's not very close to the city, but I know Pheasant Run Resort in St. Charles has a salt water pool. You can get memberships there that give you access to the gym and pools; they have one indoor-out door pool, a regular outdoor pool, and the salt water pool which is indoors. That's the only place I have any first hand knowledge of, maybe it's helpful...

Try checking your local Health Department. I understand Health Departments are required to monitor public swimming pools and will know which are chlorine vs. saline/ozone, etc. We checked ours in cincinnati trying to find non-chlorinated pools for my son's asthma. In August of 2010, I found only one in Cincinnati which was the Homewood Suites in Milford, Ohio owned by Hilton. I plan to check further Hilton hotels to see which are also saline for travelling purposes. Hope this helps.

That reminds me: aloft hotels (from Starwood) have saltwater pools. The pools are quite small, but do smell quite nice. Locations around here are in Rosemont and Bolingbrook. Checking with the health department is a good idea, although I doubt there are very many such pools which are generally open to the public.

The Hampton Inn @ O'Hare (Schiller Park) has a saltwater pool for guest use. Perhaps it is worth checking out one night or weekend: Hampton Inn Chicago O'Hare
