As far as the UK village and activity. I"m on the west end of the village and I do see some but not a lot of activity. Mostly the same homeless prostitutes that for some reason enjoy shooting up in my alley and then doing business. And I'm on a major street! Gangland things that go on over here typically are as others call it "spillage" I've lived here a few years now and keep odd hours so I've seen it all. However, I feel safe even with the working homeless ladies literally outside my window.
Hope my post didn't come off as hostile, certainly didn't mean it that way!

I guess on the west end of uk village, it is a block-by-block deal, some good some not so good. What cross-streets are you at?

I've seen this stupid site before, and their idea of gangs in my neighborhood apparently consists of a bunch of kids playing baseball or football in the park. "Oh no! An assembly of brown kids! Better call it a gang!"

the link is blocked from my work computer for reasons of "Gangs/Violence." I work for the government by the way, in the loop off of Randolph. Anywho...does the link include the suburbs? Because chicago's suburbs aren't the picture-esque cookie cutter types that many people think of when they say suburbs. Chicago's suburbs are filled with cities that have much worse crime rates than many cities in the united states. Places like Ford Heights have much higher crime rates than NYC or LA could ever dream of. It would be very helpful if the map included towns like Harvey and Chicago Heights, not to mention Gary. because i know what type of "sets" exist in these parts but not their exact locations. You have VL's, BD's, GD's, Latin Kings, 4CH, etc. But i wonder where their territory begins and where it ends...

Dont go by that internet *****. You really gotta be in an area to know what is going on. You shouldnt need a map to know what mobs are in your region.

Gang sets in the suburbs are tricky to figure out. Suburban gang sets are not as establish as their city counterparts, considering gang sets haven't been in the suburbs that long. The Latin Kings are on the eastside(1st ward) of Harvey in the area around 158th & Halsted. Chicago Heights have Latin Kings, LC's, GDs, and,4chs;I'm sure the exact streets. You are right that some Chicago suburbs don't fit the typical suburban stereotype.
