Oh, I know, I lived through southern summers for 13 years. I just don't like heat, period. It literally makes me panic.

I hear you. I moved South for one year and had to have a bottlle of water with me at all times. The heat was overbearing. Had to drive to Jackson, MS once to feel a pending hurricane. We may have some cold here, but all and all, we're nearly void of natural disasters. When I was a kid we lived in the city and our basement never flooded. Life here is good.

After 27 years of Chicago winters... I am basking in this tropical 90% humidity! I love it!
I miss my Chicago streets and food... but I think the weather is for people that dont like to do a ton of outdoor activities...

May Gray and June Gloom. If you want to go further we can bring up annual home evacuations/losses from wildfires, too.

The summers here are fine. I don't mind hot weather, so 95 degrees would be fine by me. I love the city & was born here, so I put up with the winters, which are better than they used to be. (Hell, we would get snow in late November which wouldn't melt til April. That rarely happens now.)

Ahhhhhhhhhhh this post makes me so excited to get there! We're coming back for another visit at the end of this month. I don't know where to start in terms of things to do. I have so much left on the list!

How cold does it get in November? I really need to come back there again before the year is out but I'm trying to avoid the cold until I'm forced to deal with it

November can bring anything from 70s to snow. Count on "normal" daytime temperatures in the mid 50s in the early part of the month to lower 40s by the end of the month.

Hmmmmmm I think I can deal with that, there's a comedian who says when you're in Chicago in the winter you have to buy your coat IN Chicago lol I just want to make sure I'm prepared because none of my coats are Chicago standard

Thanks!

80s, even, although I think that was only once in my life.
