Is 31 too old for someone to live in lincoln park? I'm moving from manhattan and lincoln park seems to be an interesting place to live. Although I'm wondering if I'm too old. I'll be 31 soon straight single male. I like to go out but probably can't hang in the college bars anymore. Young at heart, though. Advice.

Thanks.

Not too old at all. There are areas directly around DePaul that may make you feel a teensy bit old, but the bulk of Lincoln Park is fully suited for folks of all ages.

No 31 is not too old for lincoln park. lincoln park is a mixed community of singles (hetrosexuals, homosexuals). My sister lives there and she's 29. It's a great area, I think its a little posh. But great access to the beach, park, shops, etc.

People of all ages live in Lincoln Park. I would compare it to the UWS in NYC. You will love it.

That's it right there. I know 30-somethings who act like they just rolled in from Ann Arbor with a neon Corona sign and a B.A. in sociology, and they do just fine in LP. 31 is the new 21, dude (for better or worse). And if you aren't seeking a PhD in the college bar scene, there's plenty of more sophisticated options there too -- fine dining, social clubs of all sorts, co-ed sports, etc. If you feel you'd enjoy it, my guess is you will, and be just fine.

All those million dollar homes and condos weren't bought by fresh out of college marketing majors.

I think the average age on my old block in Lincoln Park was about 50. Well, if you didn't count the children of the homeowners living there. We lived in one of two rental buildings on the block, and since then our buidling has been torn down and the other one went condo. The home that went up in place of our old buidling was listed at $3.8 million, and I guarantee that the new owners were older than 31!

True. They were bought by their parents.
