Jesus, I never thought I'd say it but I really miss Chicago.

New Orleans is awesome if you're looking to work in the bar scene cause it's all there is here.
I'm not and it sucks cause I was hoping to do something cerebral and so far the job hunt has been a joke.

I've only been here a month so things could change easily but, all and all I miss my old life in Wicker Park.
Outside the whole winter thing, I'm moving back as of now.

It took me a lot of years to miss Chicago. The muggings, the snow & cold, the CTA (oh, how I hated the CTA; now, I wish for it!) and the density of people.

Living in the south for more years that I care to count in an area that is seriously prejuiced against the "invasion of Yankees" (it does not matter that I am Midwestern and not a Yankee) with the empahasis being on appearances rather than substance...well, I have come to miss the city. However, I still don't like cold or snow and my little family (such as it is) is all settled here, so, I will hang out for awhile more until I can afford to become a snowbird.

The weather, UGH.

That's a HUGE reason why I left.

Well at least we do not get hurricanes and tropical storms here.

I miss Chicago almost every day. I moved there to get out of LA(finally) only to have a family crisis that I had to move home for. I am planning to spend this thanksgiving and christmas here but rent an apartment in Chicago (and move in) the beginning of December so I can be there for New Year's. I am so over LA and the people here it is sad. Can't wait to get back to some real people and some real friends.

That's almost exactly what it is in NOLA today LOL - it's 81 with a few clouds currently according to the NWS.
