Galewood & Mont Clare- Galewood is one of the better neighborhoods (IMO) in Chicago, but doesn't have many apartments if you are planning to rent. Mont Clare is just north of Galewood- Mont Clare isn't a bad option if you have to live in the city.

Galewood looks great on the outside, but has a lot more crime than people realize. The well-kept homes and manicured lawns hide the fact that violent crime is a real issue there.

The western part of the Dunning area (near Cumberland & Belmont) is pretty nice.

If living outside the city limits is an option you may also want to consider Oak Park.

What are you gonna study at Triton College? In district tuition is cheap, out of district I think I paid $760 a class.

[SIZE=2]isn't Triton in Oak Park? Triton's tuition is cheap. I think it's $68 per credit. I'm not sure what you mean if in the district or out of the district. I didn't see on Triton's website anything about it. I'd prefer to live in the city of Chicago that could also get me cheap tuition rates, though I'm not sure how I would get considered to be "in the district" to get that cheap tuition rates. Which section should I be residing in to be considered in the district?

Triton is in River Grove
here's the district map from the schools website: TRITON -Chicago doesn't apply

If you must live in Chicago I suggest going to one of the city colleges

Can you give me some statistics on this? I live in Galewood and feel it's important to know this for my family's safety, although I must admit I have never witnessed any violent crime in Galewood in the last 10+ years.
