Do not be so sure. Anything is possible in Crook County, especially with The Ever So Brilliant Todd Stroger at the top.

But cubsoxfan, I did rep you. I am so sick of partisan politics. I grew up hard right and have been shifting left ever since, slowly but surely, but I am often shocked and annoyed by how folks on the left and the right can't seem to have a grown up conversation without name calling and unfair attacks.
I rep'd old Lookout for you.

Now that Obama is the first black president, along with being the biggest celebrity in the world, people from around the globe will want to visit the city that he lived in, making Chicago more recognized by people outside the US.

Hopefully.

One thing's for sure, we haven't seen much "personal responsibilty" from Republicans during the financial shenanigans of the past several years.
You are very right about Republican behavior of the last few years. I have always supprted what the party stood for in it's platform.

I have continually been dissapointed in how the party has never either behaved in a manner consistent with it's platform or it has acted in a downright corrupt manner. I can only hope the bloodbath the party took yesterday reignites the ethical part of base to throw current leadership out, search out and cultivate charismatic, strong, logical thinking leadership that attracts people back to what is a good platform of limited gov't and fostering of freedoms that allow Americans to do their best.

That's never been the Republicans. That's the Libertarians. The Republicans have long been the party of tight social controls and religious dogma. And the Republicans have been all about big government too--just in the form of a huge mega-military instead of social programs and infrastructure improvements. Perhaps you should just jump ship from the Republicans and start supporting the Libertarians.

Ditto that. IF you want to talk about Chicago and how that may be impacted, go ahead. Otherwise, take it to P & OC
