I've sometimes wondered if you might get better service and luck with your mail in the city if you had a PO box rather than a box on a route. Any experiences to share?

They were either deaf or just an a**hole. But deaf people usually let you know they are deaf instead of leaving you in the lurch.

you just had a real "peach" for your mail carrier. my mail carrier is quite friendly. like all people, reactions and attitudes will vary. especially in today's world.

You must make friends with the mail carrier...seriously, do whatever it takes, or your life can be a living hell.

Well, the term "going postal" certainly didn't germinate because they were a happy lot.

Do not start questioning people right away in almost every situation. Have an introduction or many people are going to ignore you or worse-postal worker or not

You have to break the ice.
Whats funny is that I was very polite. I did say "Hi. How are you?" I also let her know that I was new to the building. Anyway, when I called I found out that she does not talk. Weird because the first person that I spoke to in the postal department stated that the particular mail carrier had "issues" and that a lot of people were having problems with her but when I spoke to the Supervisor, he stated that she "doesnt talk". I asked him what he meant by that and he couldnt really explain. So I dont know if she just doesnt speak because she does not want to or because she really can not.
