A few people on my street, me included, got tickets for parking in our driveways... ya know how you pull in but the back of your car hangs out, but not any further than it would be if someone had parallel parked there (but they can't, since it's a driveway). And the sidewalk was not blocked.

The ticket said "parking in wrong direction, parallel parking only", but parallel parking in that location would be illegal because you would block the driveway.

wtf, is this ticket worth fighting? Has anyone had to deal with this before?

WE WANT YO MONEY!

I loved working downtown, I would be parked in a loading zone with my marked courier truck and still get a ticket. What are you going to do? My employer never fought them as far as I know, they will write the ticket to catch someone who will just pay for it.

sorry to tell you this because I know enforcement is totally erratic, but yes, that's illegal.

the key here is that you don't really have a driveway unless you're talking about something entirely on your property - what you have is a "curb cut," on a parkway which is public property & regulated, and meant simply to allow you to get in and out of a garage.

if I had my way I'd have everyone ticketed for this in the City, as most of the time the driveways are off of an alley and, people parking in the curb cut/the sidewalk are seriously impeding sight-lines when you're trying to exit the alley and turn on to the street. I've called the police over a dozen times on one particularly annoying offender on my block (he parks a massive van) as I've just avoided numerous accidents because I can't see a bloody thing thanks to his vehicle.
