Last winter almost broke me. And I've lived in this climate for 95% of my life.

last year was pretty tough, and were having a pretty crippiling start already. Going from 60s to 30s so quick really gets to you. Most people I know save their sick days for nice summer days, I save them for really cold days when I cant get out of bed

Taken from the Farmer's Almanac...

After a mostly mild November, snow at Thanksgiving will signal the coming of a very cold period, especially in the west. Temperatures will seesaw from January through March. Precipitation will generally be below normal, with above-normal snowfall in the southwest and below-normal snowfall in most other parts of the region. The coldest periods will occur in December, early and mid-January, and in early and mid-February. The snowiest periods will be in early and mid-December, early to mid-January, early February, and early March.

Hmmmmm, Chicago-Winter. Increasing cold and grayness with an increase of darkness through Dec 20. Intermittant mild days with the occasional sunny and crisp day. About 40% gray with about 35-50" of snow. Improving conditions around mid-March. It's the same EVERY year. Just a question of how much snow and how much sunshine and how many milder days. But it's freakin Chicago in winter-cold, windy gray with snow.
The question remind me of George Carlin's take on TV weathermen: "Tonight becoming dark with a 100% chance of darkness until morning. Tomrrow morning, turning lighter early in the day with increasing light throughout the day. Tomorrow night-dark again........................

"It's the hippie dippie weather with the Hippie Dippie Weatherman, man."
Great bit.

I am hoping that it doesn't snow until about a week before Christmas, then, bring it on..........

It sure felt cold today, but it was fun watching my son look at the snowflakes last night. He has never seen snow before. I am looking forward to snowmen, snowballs, etc.
