This is totally wrong though because dan parks ON the street. Cops that live nearby or regularly patrol there and see your car parked on the street over and over again WILL ticket you once they recognize that your car has been parking there for more than a month.

Default It Could Possibly Happen, but Not Always

I understand that this MIGHT happen, but it is NOT always guaranteed. Case In Point:

My friend with the Out of State Plates (Tennessee) Parks on the same street in East Lakeview, a block away from home (since his place is 383 Permit Required). He uses his car once or twice a week. He has lived in Chicago since March of 2007 and has never received a ticket or any sort of notice regarding his parking. Granted, he parks on a neighborhood street, not Broadway, Halsted, Clark, or some other major thoroughfare.

I think, if Dan is not parked on a Major, Arterial Street he should be fine. My friend that parks in East Lakeview in a non-arterial street, for sometimes weeks at a time, has never received a ticket, and has kept his original Tennessee plates for just as long.

Hmmm. It is impossible to parks for weeks at a time during street cleaning months and not get a ticket. This is even more true in E. Lake View where in most places street cleaning is every two weeks or every month.

Yes. The areas where many cops live is where you must worry the most. I have known many people that tried to keep their car stuff registered in the burbs or somewhere else. Sooner or later they got a ticket because the cops or a neighbor noticed the car was parked in the area for long periods of time.

Why not just buy the sticker? I would rather be safe than sorry. Furthermore,I am sure many people on this site can afford to pay for the sticker. How cheap can you be? These people are part of the reason why the city is having trouble paying its bills.
