Well he was actually from Ohio. He really did not live in Illinois that long at all when he was elected.

Illinois has never had a President that was born in Illinois AND spent most of his life Illinois or one that has spent most of his life in Illinois AND was born in Illinois.

Yeah, a lot of people don't associate Reagan with Illinois, either.

Can someone tell me why this idiot (yes he's an idiot) taunted the Feds the way he did?

Well they should. He was born in Illinois and grew up in Illinois. He is the only President to do so. He also was one of the biggest Cubs fans around.

Well, I know that, but a lot of other people don't. They think he is from California.

He did spend a huge portion of his life in California after becoming an adult and was an actor perhaps that is why. It is a shame. He comes the closet of any of the Presidents "from Illinois" to actually claim that he was.

Wow, that's either massively cynical or just weird.

Check out these pics and draw you own conclusions:

[mod cut]

"Obama has maintained a cordial but distant relationship with Blagojevich during the governor's tenure. He supported his fellow Democrat for re-election in 2006, even though the governor backed someone else over Obama in the U.S. Senate Democratic primary race in 2004. Obama has said little about the many misconduct allegations that have piled up against Blagojevich, and he has complimented Blagojevich for running "a sound administration" with "the right priorities."

Man was/is Obama on crack?

How is it that a majority of people that post in this forum have known Blago is FOS for a year (or in my case and a few others-many years) but Obama has sung the praises of Blago up until a year or so ago? Is he blind or is he a liar? I sure do not think he is blind.

PWND.

I hate to burst your Obama hate-fest, but there is no evidence that they were lovey-dovey beyond what is required of politics (which we all admit is a messy affair that requires one rub shoulders with less than desirable people). If I recall, Blago wasn't even invited to the DNC and went on record as calling Obama a motherf***er.

Don't get me wrong, I don't think Obama is a saint for one second (I have my qualms with the guy, but I sure as hell liked him better than the McCain/Palin ticket), but I don't think he's nearly as involved as the tinfoil brigade is going to try and make him out to be.

And let's be honest, as a local Democratic politician at the time, do you really think he would have thrown his support in for Judy Baar Topkina back in 2004, really now.
