like a park/baseball field I can let my big dogs run around for a while off leash in 60634...They love the snow....I don't have 'permits' that they need to run in the far reaching dog parks...I am sure I will get a ticket of some sort.. I am willing to take my chances *rebel*

Giant Forest Preseve at Irving & Cumberland. I am sure it is illegal to have dogs off leash there, but since Todd Stroger's crack Forest Preserve Police are spread so thin you might want to use your rebel sense of adventure to tempt fate and few hundred dollars in fines.

Yeah, just go to the forest preserves.

I see people playing Frisbee or fetch with dogs all the time there.

Maybe I can use the 'im from california' as an excuse for being oblivious to whatever signs are posted?

Probably need something better than that. The Forest Preserve Police generally are not real big on enforcing the no-dogs off leash thing, but if the do decide that you are trying to pull a fast one they can fine at least $70 per dog, more if you don't have rabies tags.

Well behaved dogs are you best defense. If the dogs will stop on command most of the Forest Preseve force will just tell you to drive up to Beck Lake in Glenview unless they see you again and then the citation book comes out...

The Dog park permit is $5 and you can get it from any vet. Why not just get a permit? The ticket would be the same if your dog is off-leash in a dog park or not without a permit (BTW, both are $500 in the city).
