Chicago? What coast is that on?

Just kidding. Props to them, mostly for TDK.

Chicago is a great place but many of its citizens especially on this board are too hard pressed to prove to everybody that its just as good as NY or LA. I would not call it cockiness or an inferiority complex but its unique to say the least.

I was raised in Wisconsin and I'll be the first to tell you that Chicago is a cool city with great people. I find their civic pride refreshing and have yet to meet someone arrogant from Chicago. However when the Packers play the Bears, I wish the whole city burn in hell.

Seriously though, I'm glad Chicago is getting the props it deserves and I truly hope that it lands the Olympics. It's truly a spectacular city.

Shouldn't this be in the Chicago sub-forum?

Excuse me? I don't think this is Chicago's reputation at all. Are you just talking about this forum?

Well, I think New York is superior to Chicago in many ways. But it's a pretty common belief around the country that L.A. is a hell hole. I think most people rate their own city above L.A., so this is not unique to Chicagoans on this forum. (Sorry Angelinos, but you must have noticed that L.A. hate is pretty rampant, whether it's deserved or not).

I am also a part of the 'Hate LA but Love San Francisco Club'

LA might be a nice place to live if you have a car and money but it certainly isnt a classical tourist city imo....

Well if you can't handle brash Chicagoans, you should cross it off your list. New Yorkers and Bostonians are equally brash, if not more so. In fact, I think much of the Northeast exudes a brash self-confidence that often rubs people the wrong way. I tend to view this as a positive thing.
