When the hell are they going to free up Fukudome's salary? That's a waste of cash right there. In spite of the economic boon to those selling racist t-shirts, he's just got to go.

I pray Ramirez doesn't get hurt this year...

Without Sheets and Sabathia, the Brew Crew is in deep doo doo. Sheets hasn't been traded yet, but it's just a matter of time.

YES...as I kept telling folks that I know that 2008 was their year. I didn't forsee that type of effort against the Dodgers though. I do believe the Cubs win the Central again though with stiff competition from the Cardinals and Astros.

If any year WAS their year it was 1984 or 2003.

After 2003 (although I was not one of the chumps thinking they would make it all the way in 2003 for sure and win) I made sure not to get my hopes up too high, but at the same time having confidence. Last year was horse crap.

Nah, not 2003. They lucked their way into the playoffs in '03 and nobody but the Cub Faithfulâ„¢ thought they'd make it past the Braves.

I ALWAYS believe.

Plus, I really wanted them to get past the Braves (the primary baseball team down here) so that I could have bragging rights over my kids.

Exactly. The Braves won 101 games that season and the Cubs won 88. 2003 was as much "their year" as 2007 when they won 85 games, or at least that's what a bunch of people I know and every newspaper was telling me until they got swept in the first round.

Well it became their year when they were up 3-1 on Florida.

The 2003 team is a classic case of one that got hot at the right time... and unfortunately, couldn't carry it to the World Series. If anything, the 2004 team was the one that SHOULD have won it all. Now that team was stacked.

Basically, the guys need to get over the star-struck-ness over being in the playoffs and play ball like they do in the regular season. Then, we would have a world series win!
