Maybe it's wishful thinking, but I sort of interpreted with what happened, plus the fact that he was enrolled in that explorers program, that this kid just really wants to be a police officer. I could think of a lot of worse things for a young man to aspire to be. Maybe I'm being naive though. Oh well.

My main problem is not with the kid, who seems harmless yet overly-eager to become a cop... My main problem is with the idiots in the Chicago Police Department who cannot tell an actual cop from a 14 year old impersonating a cop.

I'm surprised they didn't issue him an M4, tactical armor, a helmet, etc, and tell him to ride along for the execution of a high-risk warrant.

Interesting, I saw the minister that had legal guardianship of this child until December when he went home to live with his mother - the one getting all of the time on local tv - explaining that this is a cry for help. You think?
