So, i will be moving to lincoln park/wrigleyville area this summer...im starting to do some interviews this coming week in that area. I want to get settled and secure in a job before i make the move

Anyway, i will be taking the train(hopefully, as long as it isnt TOO much of a hassle) til i move down there. I'll be departing from Palatine. Im just not too sure if it makes more sense to get off at clybourn or ogilvie to get to lincoln park. i know how to get to the L lines from ogilvie...but im clueless when it comes to clybourn. Im not even sure if they are lines close.

Im kinda freaked out by the idea of buses, so the L is my prefered mode of transportation. And if i have to, ill cab it. Are there even cabs readily avail. at clybourn in the mornings?

Sorry this is getting long...but for example...monday i have an interview at clark and belmont. what would you do if you were me?!? Thanks guys!

Jen

If you go all the way downtown it will take longer.

What is so scary about buses for you?

haha, just because ive never taken the buses before...only when the blue line was messed up for awhile, and i had to transfer onto a bus for awhile...i was afraid of the L before i took it...

I figured going all the way downtown would take me longer. but i wasnt sure if getting to the L or a cab would be difficult from Clybourn.

Both are difficult, but taxis are very hard to flag and come by over there.

Getting a CTA train close to Clybourn is not going to do you any good. It takes you way out of the way and adds way to much time to your trip. I mean you could take the Armitage bus to the Brown Line and then take the train to Belmont. The Armitage bus kinda sucks though.

Just get on the Ashland bus. Take it to Belmont. Then take Belmont to Clark.

Try each out from Clybourn and see how it works for you before your interview.

The other option is taking the Metra to Irving Park. Take the Irving Park bus east to the Red Line at Sheridan. Take Sheridan to Belmont.

If you do go into olilvie the brown line is probaly 4 or 5 blocks away and youd be able to find a cab within 20 seconds.

Yes.

I don't know how that slipped my mind! Probably because it has been closed for a year, I have been forgetting about it!

hmm, thanks everyone. i think what ill probably end up doing is, either taking the metra to clybourn...then brave the buses for my first time. i might as well get it over it.

or maybe ill do the irving park to the brown line. i assume there is still at least one bus to get the brown line?!? right?

this seems the easiest to me, because i know it. and i know i can jump into a cab in a heartbeat and be done with it.

it just seems so far out of the way.
