Yeh, my dad once lent a new car to a buddy from college in Chicago supposedly to go to work in, as he had a new job... The buddy did a bunch of coke, got drunk, and drove it at about 90 MPH running redlights everywhere all over downtown. he got away from the cops, but in the process he forced an old lady off the road who died... The police chasing him managed to get his plates as he shot away, and traced it back to who? My dad! so here I am 8 years old and the police come GUNS DRAWN to our doorstep. Pretty scary. Anyhow, my dad called him and told him to turn himself in, and he did, when they searched the buddy's house they also found several kilos of coke, so yeh, he is still in jail. Does that mean my dad is a bad person? No absolutely not!

What's up with this OP and the crime threads? I've lived in Chicago and the Bronx also, but this crime stuff seems obsessive. All of us here read the paper.
