Other than the two I mentioned the closest above average Jewel's to those areas are at :

2940 N. Ashland Ave
(773) 871-8242

3400 N. Western Ave
(773) 327-1204

1128 Chicago Ave
Evanston
(847) 869-7950

2485 Howard St
Evanston
(847) 328-9791

The one at:

5516 North Clark St
(773) 728-7730

has not been updated really in the last 20 years at all and is very small.

Ugh, that place is claustrophobia-inducing. The aisles are about 3 feet wide and 8 feet long. It's like shopping in rows of kitchen pantries.

I will be honest.

As much as I love Trader Joe's the size and spacing of the location at (3745 N Lincoln Ave) Lincoln and Grace is actually worse than the Jewel at 5516 North Clark St!

I still like to go to that Trader Joe's though since it is the closest to my dwelling.

Most of the food is great. It easily beats Jewel's offerings. But that store is almost always super busy.

It is a cluster **** most of the time.

I wish I'd known this before I went to that TJ's on a Saturday afternoon. It was horrible.

We have TJ's here in Cleveland and it is okay. The produce is overpriced for the same quality at the nearby grocery store. I actually like Aldi a little better because the produce is very good quality and the prices are less. Of course I have no idea if this holds true for the Chicago markets.

Hey, that reminds me to ask, are there farmer's markets around that offer fresh produce at better than grocery store prices?

Yeah there are many in the warm months. When it is cold out not so many...

This page is a good resource:

So, we have been apartment hunting based on the extensive list we made from all your suggestions. We have two and half days, and our first day resulted in one good prospect. It is on Junior Terrace, near Clarendon and Irving Park. Can anyone share with me their opinions about this area?

We are trying to decide if we should go ahead and rent this unit. It fits most of our criteria, and from Walkscore and Everyblock seems safe enough. The rent is $925 for a corner unit, 1 bedroom

Thanks
