Is this not putting the carriage in front of the horse?

This guy might end up being the worst president ever, the best, or maybe somewhere in between...

The worship of this man is getting far beyond ridiculous.

I mean if this guy actually kicks some ass and gets this country thriving again I have no problem with the plates. At this point whether that actually will happen remains to be seen.

Does it really matter that much? If there are foolish people willing to pay for them, fine, the state could really use the extra income.

haha you bring up a good point.

But I agree all Chicago and Illinois have been about as of late is Obama. If Obama sucks it up Illinois and Chicago are going to be taking heat for it. Its a free way to get some publicity so I doubt any state wouldnt do what were doing.

I guess folks don't remember how when Reagan was elected the papers were all aglow about a president who actually once lived in Chicago! And has anyone been out west by Dixon (on the RR expressway) lately? You have to follow the RR trail; its illuminating.

I also seem to remember Evanston still talking about Dawes, who was vice president about 100 years ago. So localities seem to grab some type of presidential connection where they may.

States always go crazy for home town presidents. All of our license plates are Abraham Lincoln plates, after all! (Not that I'm saying there is any equivalency between Obama and Lincoln).

Sure there is. They both designed their presidential cabinets off of the writings of Doris Kearns Goodwin.

These are special event plates and are being issued to raise money for the Illinois Library Assoc. Commemorative plates like this are pretty common, any organization that want to do it just fills out an application with the Secretary of State's office and pays a fee. Some past ones include a honey bee festival and the Illinois League of Bicyclists. I'm surprised it took an organization so long to do it.

Jdiddy is a comedic god. It's too bad that his writings are limited to a nerdy forum that no one reads.

The painstakingly compiled city-data.com statistics say otherwise.

Quite possibly the biggest understatement of all time.

One was a man, the other is a slimy rodent.
