I assume the little eye rolling icon means you're being facetious? I hope so.

It is a nice bus ride down Broadway and Clark on the 36, but that seems like it would take hours during rush hour.

a couple of thursdays ago it took an hour going south at 5:30 pm from Ardmore to North Ave, I can't imagine trying to get in the Loop in the AM.

Yeah I was kidding. I was referencing a post that someone (who shall remain unnamed) that said "Boystown" was an area to avoid.

I would imagine Broadway would take around an hour to get to Uptown during the morning or evening rush.

Maybe I'll try it one of these days when I don't have to take my daughter in... Just for kicks. I'd at least get a seat!

I'm really wondering how I might get home tomorrow... The Red Line will be unbearably packed going north because of this! Did anyone notice a difference on the buses and trains this past evening? I was at a meeting in the suburbs, so I was in a car.

I'm really brain dead atm; it has been a very long two days. I wish I had a more intelligent comment to make.

I really, really don't envy you. The red line had been lacking capacity for its need for years when I left.

Now this?

How can it be that there isn't enough money for the life blood of the city? Chicago can't do cars, and frankly in this day and age that's the very last thing we should be encouraging people to use. Brazilian cities are nightmarish because of the complete lack of public transport (well, addendum: one of the reasons Brazilian cities...). With so many people ready and willing to use public transit, the only easy way to move people around a city efficiently and economically, this happens.

Actually the Red Line train I was on was strangely empty. Maybe they already added extra service.

I do go home at the latter part of rush hour though. Usually it is still really packed when I do however.
