Hello, I'd like to learn more about 707 W Waveland. It is my understanding that it was once a low income rental turned co-op. I would think that the building's subpar condition keeps the buy-in price relatively low comparable to the neighborhood. I also suspect there are a fair amount of rentals.

The reason I ask is because I'm considering having someone living in one of the units provide home day care services for my child. I live near the area and have not personally had any problems. I don't see police in front of the building. Occasionally some roudy kids or someone parked out front playing loud music. If anyone has any personal experience with this building, I would much appreciate your take.

I worked as a volunteer for a meals on wheels program and delivered to an elderly resident in that building. I was in the building about twice a week. It seemed to be well run and I felt very safe.

I would not have an issue with anyone doing childcare as relates to living in the building as long as they check out otherwise. I think you are just as likely to get a bad apple from a more upscale building.

Good luck. I know finding the right childcare provider is very important and kudos to you for doing your due diligence
