You should have not told them. It was getting interesting...

Yeah I have known that term since I was a child. I prefer to say "a smoke or smokes" however.

My wife had hookers turning tricks IN HER PARKED CAR in the 90s in Wicker Park. She lived on North Avenue above a business. She wouldn't use her car for days at a time, but apparently others were using it... Even though it was a piece of crap car, she had the entire thing detailed after she found out.

Typically where I am from people dont have fences in the front of thier homes but I see it a lot in Chicago.
4-6 feet doesnt seem very tall if you are using it for security reasons.
It's tall enough if it has those spikey things on top. You climbed fences when you were little, you say. Thieves usually aren't little, and when you're a full-grown adult it's harder to hoist your body weight over the top of those protrusions without goring yourself. It's even harder to do it when you're trying to leave with a TV and stereo.

It's falling by the wayside as smoking becomes less chic with each generation.

She should have put a wrought iron fence around her car.

Hah! This happened to a friend of mine. We were both so pissed off (I relied on her for rides to the grocery store) that we layed the damn thing with red pepper and salted with cayenne-- there was no way she could keep that piece of crap after that.

It worked, and it worked well ^_^

Are you friends with my wife? She was quite the socialite back in her late 90s Wicker Park days and would have huge parties in her loft that were open to the street. Now we're both just parents who never go out.

Ok, wait you guys. I have the definitive answer. Subconsciously AT LEAST, it is in preparation for Zombie invasion. Same reason I keep a shotty under the bread drawer.

I bet I used to hang out with the people your wife hung out with. I may have even met her years ago.
