I lived in Chicago briefly

I was trying to figure out the neighborhood was near Devon street and lots of indians and jews North side. I think.

Anyways yeah.

They do the same thing in Pittsburgh. You will see chairs and all different kinds of things used for "saving the spot".

They dont pay for it do they?

Some neighborhoods are different than others but I know that in 'hoods that are serious business about lawn chair spot saving you might be putting your car at risk by moving their stuff to park there. If you car is keyed or tires slashed when you get back that is your mistake for spot theft.

The rules are strict but fair.

This winter one of my neighbors who is a spot saver left their ironing board out there and when he came home someone had stolen it. Now, that is justice.
