Is this a never ending nightmare??? It seems like every week there is something new that involves hard working people pay more money in a city and state that has problem after problem. Is it worth staying here??? But Daly says the one billion he is getting is better then nothing. One billion to chicago is like one million because that is all that will be left of that money after everyone gets a piece of it.

It is much worse in other countries. I am from Poland and we pay much higher taxes for everything. I am pretty sure that it will get that way for the U.S., it has just taken a longer time to get to that time.

well it shouldnt get like that. i dont care what other countries do, i care what my country does. the whole reason we are an independent country is because of taxation without representation. this is bullshi%. this country is turning socialist just like all of europe. and illinois is the worst tax state in this country.

what is wrong with a little socialism if it helps to stimulate capitalism? As the value of the Euro has shown people, it is possible.

typical Illinois.

"We need more money!"
"Well, what should we do? Balance the budget?"
*group laughter*
"No silly, just raise taxes!"

I haven't looked at the details to have a strong opinion yet, but apparently about half of Illinoisans will get a tax cut (due to increase in the personal exemption), and half will see an increase.

I just think Quinns statement was STUPID AND ARROGANT! "Would you raise the gas taxes to help the budget deficit?" No we dont want to be unfair to the poor. Why arent "poor" people taking public transportation. You HAVE to have insurance in illinois. If you are truly poor you should not have a vehicle. Keep leaning on the wealthy and soon it will all collapse..... Why work hard if it is just going to be taken away. Not to mention the 10.5 sales tax. This is why we need an ELECTION

Yes, I'm sure the quality of life in SC is excellent. You barely need to turn on the heat with all those crosses burning in your yard.

So you are OK with the proposed tax increase then?
