Talk about an incredibly myopic opinion. The Loop is still what makes Chicago.

The incredibly high property values in the Loop and surrounding areas pay for much, if not most, of the city services (police, fire, schools, etc), that city dwellers depend on. This area also attracts the tourists and conventions that pay sales tax, hotel taxes, etc. Whether or not you ever set foot into the Loop, you are dependent on it as the cash-cow that funds the rest of the city.

Where do you see that they're moving it? This is what I see under the Transporation plan:

Improved intersection at Chicago Ave
would expand left turn lane
• Reducing angle of curve(s) at Oak
Street Beach would improve hazardous
turning movement
• Provides more space for bicycle & pedestrian
paths along Lakefront

They have to move L.S.D. farther into the lake to do that.
