My lease will be expiring in a few months and wondering if all leases in Chicago don't have a transfer clause included. I am not sure I want to sign a year lease and then try to have to sublease my place if I get transferred or move. Does anyone know of places that will include a transfer clause or something like a 60 day notice to get out of the contract? Thanks

its going to vary lease to lease. You would have to bring it up to your lanlord before signing the lease, I doubt any lanlords lease would give you that benefit. The lease I just signed demands 2 months rent if I terminate it early.

What is in your lease is something you discuss with your prospective landlord before you sign it. If you want a transfer clause, say so. The landlord will either let you put it in or not.
