I wish we could move sooner. I am barely hanging on by a thread.

I called a restaurant tonight to ask them if they had a website or a menu online and finally I asked if they would just fax me a menu. He reacted like my requests were strange to him. Hill billy town! This town doesnt have anything online. I encounter this situation so frequently that I have just given up hoping.

In Houston or Austin practically everything is online. You can purchase, research, resolve practically anything online.
I love the convenience of this and I am thinking I wont have this same problem in Chicago. Is this right?

I know it's the most well known but I think metromix.com is great. I usually check out any new restaurant or bar I go to on there before I decide if I will try it out for good. Very helpful.

Metromix, Yelp (however corrupt) and Grubhub will be your friend.

In addition to Metromix, Yelp, etc., I have found that many of my favorite Chicago restaurants have their own websites with menu information, etc.

I use grubhub for menus (it looks like they scan in the menus). I don't know what to use for reviews anymore since yelp is so iffy now (I take their reviews w/ a huge grain of salt now). may need to check out metromix more

Additionally, you can order directly from GrubHub for many restaurants, but they upcharge you a bit. I use the online ordering only if it's a place that has a problem with English speakers.
