Hello,
I am new to Chicago and I commute from my apt near Erie and Kingsbury to my job near Damen and Harrison.

The commute to work is fine, Ohio St 94E to 290W to Damen and takes 15min.

The evening commute is hellish, can take me 45 min. The 290 highway is a mess and frustrating with everyone switching lanes and two of the four lanes at a virtual stand-still.

Does anyone have suggestions that would allow me to bypass 290E?

Tonight I am going to try to take Ogden all the way to Grand Ave.

Any other ideas?

Dude just take the blue line and read a book. You'll be much less stressed.

Seriously, why are you driving? WOW. I can't even imagine owning a car in the near north neighborhood let alone commuting within the city.

Personally I don't think any part of the city will be white-bred enough for you. Move to the 'burbs.

Blue Line'll get you each way in a half hour or less. Sounds like it would balance.
