Hi All,
I am a mother of an 11 y/o girl entering into the 6th grade. I planned to send her to camp this summer but the cost of camp is INSANELY high this year and as we all know, in this economy we need to be creative to save money. So I am toying with the idea of starting a social group for mothers and their daughters(10-12?) to help my daughter cope with the summer at home. Also, being involved in such a group would get me out of my rut(cook, study, go to the gym, cook ,study...) and force me to get out and interact with other adults! I would like to meet twice a month at the theater, museum, beach etc. This would be a great way for the girls to meet new friends and experience new and positive things in a safe and controlled environment. It would also be a good way for mothers to get out and connect with other mothers who are in desperate need of support during these oh so wonderful preteen girl years
I also have 2 other daughters (3 &4 years old), so if you have little one's maybe we can work out having a group for them as well. Interested? Let me know!

Wow, kudos to you. When I was an 11-year old girl I wouldn't be caught dead hanging out with my mom.
