I'd still try to make Old Town work. Tri-Taylor is still too much of an isolated enclave for me--though the "walls" have come down a bit in recent years...

Yeah, he'd have to up that budget for the North Side lakefront. But I managed to live in Lincoln Park with a basically entry level job when I first moved to the city, and thousands of other folks do too. You have to ditch or pay off your car, not get a fancy cable package, and *gasp* not go on fancy vacations every year.

I could see how living on the Medical Center campus would be only $400/month. That would suck. And have you seen all of the abandoned bulldozed blocks just south of the old Cook County Hospital? It's kind of creepy. There are sidewalks, streetlights, and alleys in a typical Chicago residential block pattern... but no buildings! You can get a good view of it from the Pink Line.

Small campus of a private school. It's in Tri-Taylor.

Its really block for block around there. Some areas are vacant and waiting for funding that wont come for quite some time and other areas have just built 700k townhouses.
