That's a good idea. Some residents open up their homes for the tour.

Default When i'm in Chicago,

..after a Cub game, I usually walk down Addison to the Blue Line (headed to O'Hare). The walk takes the better portion of an hour, and I pass through some interesting neighborhoods. The immediate neighborhood around Wrigley is fantastic, and full of old brick apt buildings interlaced with 19th-century Victorian homes. Further down Addison, you have some side streets with the classic Chicago bungalows, with their small, manicured lawns and the alleys behind them.

One of these trips, I'm going to make an effort to see Hyde Park (perhaps after a White Sox game), and to spend more time in Chinatown. I always enjoy walking around Old Town, Park Ridge and Oriole Park, but I need to try a greater variety of neighborhoods.I'm going to spend more time in Evanston, too.

When I moved here I use to go on rides for an hour or an hour and a half around 3 nights a week.

A few months ago I rented a car, drove to Gary, then took side streets up through Chinatown, Little Village, Humbolt Park, Wicker Park and up through Uptown. Took 3 hours total. I loved it though.

Sometimes when I'm bored at work I get on the train and randmoly ride it out to Midway or O'hare just for ****s and giggles.

Used to love doing that in my car on a drizzly fall day, going through the rougher neighborhoods for the architecture, cup of coffee in hand. When the weather is wet, less people milling about it, makes it easier to slow down and really enjoy.
