I love, love, love that your brought your son and that he has a little rainbow flag. As a person who grew up in a very conservative part of Michigan, it gives me hope that one day I will able to be "myself" without fear of violence or being discriminated against for being gay. You made my day with that picture!

Thanks! Do you know, two people at the parade actually made rude comments to my friend and I for bringing children to the parade? It made me so mad. I ran out of time, but I was going to make a sign for him that said, "My mommy will love me no matter who I am or who I love."

I can believe it. It seems backward to be angry about that, though.

After all, the whole goal is to point out that you can be gay and be proud about it. Kids absorb that stuff.

It was great. Much more manageable then the parade and I didn't bring the stroller so the march from Halsted to Damen gave me quite a workout with the kid on my shoulders. And the bonus, the nieves guys were out en masse so I got a snow cone for her and teenage mutant ninja turtle popsicle for me on the walk back. LOL.

It was so good to be back with the boys. It was so good to be back in Chicago.

And CostaRicaChica, I didn't mean to talk only about myself in our messages, I'm sorry. I'm just typing from my cellphone and I'm sort of hustling through the airport!

What's this, you mean as the nth float featuring gyrating, near naked dudes displaying their "pride" passed by, somebody had the audacity to turn to you and state that it's disfunctionial to bring a child to this spectacle? The nerve of some people!

I was disappointed in this year's Gay Parade... not many drag queens around... not too many pretty lesbians either... I'm not into Butch Dykes, Bears, or gays either... so the day was a letdown except for my KFC meal... If I was in the parade I would've been the prettiest drag queen around there!

Right. Because the displays between heterosexuals is so classy and tasteful, right? There's nothing that's questionable, nothing with near nudity, nothign rated R. Ever. Certainly not on television, in printed media or on billboards around the city.
