Has anyone moved to Chicago from a smaller town in Colorado? What are the biggest adjustments?

the 10 1/4% tax that you would have to pay from groceries to furniture and what not.
Gasoline is over 3$ a gallon.
You own a car? you'll get ticketed for whatever reason even if you are parked legit.
Be prepared to pay pay pay to the Daley Machine and his cronies.

That rarely happens. I've never had a ticket in Chicago that wasn't legit. They **** me off, but they're usually legit.

Default Yes!

YES! Jay Cutler has. This city is going to wrap around him and turn him into a Brett Favre scale legacy, and we are soo excited. Biggest adjustment from CO is going to be massive urban landscape, DJ style performance versus live music, which also exists, but you'll see what I mean. A singles scene. Powerful political families like the Daleys. Lots of sports options. I fear for the person that has time to maintain full fanship of every Chicago professional sports team. It would be ridiculous. A tremendous supply of college grads keeps us young, we are several years younger than NYC and other big cities that draw grads on average, and that is very much due to the graduates that move here every year.

So you can't read signs and that's Chicago's fault? We got one ticket while living in Chicago and while I was mad, it was our fault nonetheless.

It was. But take note that you were replying to a very old post.

(No biggie... I've done that myself before, when I wasn't paying close attention.)
