I never purchased a 2008-2009 vehicle sticker. I purchased my car in October of 2008. It is now time to purchase the 2009-2010 vehicle sticker which I will do. My friend told me I will have to pay for the 2008-2009 sticker in addition to the 2009-2010 sticker since I never bought it. Is this correct? My car is registered to Chicago, but I moved to the suburbs and never bought

You need to purchase a sticker for whatever burb you live in now and change the address on your registration to wherever you live now right away.

Why would you pay for a city sticker for Chicago if you no longer live here? Also, if you have not been ticketed for not having a sticker for 2008-2009 there is no need to buy one now if you no longer live in the city.

My car is in someone else's name and they live in the city. Will I have to pay for both years?

At this point I do not think you have to buy one for last year.

If you live in the burbs and never park your car in the city then you really don't have to buy a Chicago sticker for this year either.

But I would buy one for whatever burb you live in and if you ever plan on parking in Chicago you should buy a Chicago sticker for this year.
