I heard that Atlanta was having some kinda of issue with water or something not too long ago...and I can agree with it being cheaper to live here. Atlanta is experiencing a boom right now, so yeah that explains that housing and food prices.

Oh, that's what it was. Lol, I wonder if this boom (which has been going on for a while) will continue? I compare the boom in Atlanta to the increase in population in the west Chicagoland and far south and west areas here.

Being from Florida, I have no sense of humor about water issues. When I first moved here I was appalled at how much water is wasted. From May until October the hydrant up the street in front of the fire station is on and splashing all over the street. In Florida, we weren't allowed to wash our cars, our dogs or water our lawns from October to May and then when rainy season was supposed to come but didn't we had massive grassland fires in the everglades and tons of people lost there homes. Urban sprawl definitely has a lot to do with the water issues and since Atlanta has blown up in the last ten years they will have more problems in the future then solutions for them.

Well, we cannot stop urban sprawl. It's inevitable. People will always look for somewhere else to live, and so on and so forth. Imagine what it will be like when everyone from my generation is grown?

P.S. That would be every child born after 1985

Well, hey let's be honest. No one seems to be kicking the bucket on having babies. Where will all of these people live?

I have never been to Chicago but I hear nothing but good things about it (except the weather of course). That is pretty much on the top of my list of places to go. Just wanted to get some feedback on if I should go ahead and move there. Here's a little about me....

I am a female about to be 27. I have a job at a company that I can probably get a job with in Chicago if not....I will find one. I am just getting out of a 3 1/2 year relationship so I am ready for big change. I want to go somewhere that has plenty to do, but without having to spend a whole lot of money all the time. I love to go out to eat and just hang out. I know that's all pretty random facts, but it's what I could think of right now to write up. Thanks!
The weather here is worse than ATL's from December until March, but even then you might like it if you love occasional snowfall and very cold nights and days. But from April until late November, Chicago's weather is far more comfortable than ATL's.

And Drover? Shhhh.

Thank you for the feedback, even though it wasn't a whole lot of feed back on my question but on others comments. :-) I got a big smile at some of the first comments about being a rebound man! I need all the laughs I can get right now. Well, I have been thinking about it and I am pretty sure that come next May when my lease is up I will be saying "hello Chicago and goodbye Atlanta"! Now I just have to figure out where up there to move to....did I mention I've never even been to Chicago? I am coming up in September to visit though. Thanks!
