Default I am a deadbeat on city sticker

I never paid for a city sticker. The key is to have your car registered somewhere other than Chicago. It is also cheaper on your insurance.

I still have my car insured and registered thru Itasca.

If you live in Chicago, that's theft, period.

You've been stealing from me and every other law-abiding vehicle owner who doesn't lie about their residence.

I will be sure to keep this mind when reading your constant diatribes on the "moral deficiencies" of the poor.

The main reason to get a city sticker, if you need a reason beyond honesty, is that cops do ticket vehicles registered in Chicago that do not have them. I've had friends who have cars in parking garages who still have been ticketed. A garage is all well and good, but what about when you are out on the road and parked elsewhere? They do check.

A few years ago the city anounced it would be entering privately-owned parking ramps to ticket city sticker scofflaws. I've noticed them in the condo building garage that I park in, since it has a public parking component to it. I have no idea how this is legal. It seems like an unconstitutional illegal search to me.

That's just hilarious. I suppose we should learn by example and follow our elected officials lead about moral behavior.

Again, the key is to register your car outside of Chicago. It keeps you off their radar.

ugh. well thanks for info. we moved here in march and i love the food, the polish and hispanic culture in my neighborhood, the increased amount of sun vs my old home, downtown, and the lake.

what i don't like is how the city just seems to want to dick with our checkbook every time it can. i frequented this site before i moved and thought you guys were overstating it. nope. $150 in the last month or so for things that I was unaware were IL law.

plus having someone back into my van & leave w/o a note and then coming outside to a car with a smashed window and missing GPS unit just adds to the financial strain of having/getting to live here.

The law is if a car is parked in the city for longer than 30 days one needs a sticker no matter where the car is registered.

If enough cops live in your neighborhood or you **** off a friend or neighbor you will be getting a ticket.

There are still quite a few city workers that live in that area. Methinks an officer or another city worker lives nearby or one of your neighbors called in on you.
